Call of the Covenant Chapter three

Lyden stumbled, "What?! How the hell did you do that? That's not possible!"

"It's very possible. No time for questions just now though." She said.

"Umm...yeah sure, but you so have to explain that later." He looked around, "This is a low level bank, probably no more than twenty grand total here, check the safety deposit boxes, there might be some jewelry you like in there."

She shrugged, "twenty grand's more than I've seen my whole life." She said simply.

"Well congratulations" He said loading his pockets with hundred dollar bills.

She began pulling money into her own pockets, "Heh... yeah..." She said simply a few minutes later, "Almost ready to head out?"

"I'm good. You can get us out of here right?"

"Of course. I can do better than that and transfer us outside." She replied, and once more they were encased in darkness.

Lyden spent the entire very short trip trying to figure out what was happening.

"There you go..." She said as the darkness vanished.

"Wow, that's impressive."

"That's my gift." She replied simply.

"Wow, useful gift, and you've never robbed a bank before? Odd.."

She shrugged, "I've lived in the streets my whole life... I hardly ever use it anyway..."

"Well you clearly don't have to, so why do you live here?"

Nyx entered the room in a shortmini skirt made of black silk. Toped with a very tight form fitting read leather and lace corsset. Her boots were just below the knee and made of black leather. She wore her hair partially down and her arms half way covered with mesh gloves. "Did you guys miss me? Inara, please don't pout. Its not like you can keep him forever. Are we going after Sali or are we gonna sit here?" She got a drink from the bar in teh corner and sat down.

"We're going after him," He turned and looked at her, and blinked.

"Something wrong Marcus?" Nyx smiled slyly

Marcus cleared his throat, "Oh ha ha. What's the plan?"

"I was gonna let you decide. I know my way around....As long as you're not worried are you? I can handle Sali.... Its not like I'm not attractive to him... I can control him..." Nyx looked around.

"I have the power of the Covenant on my side, do you doubt them?"

Nyx laughed. "Never in my enitre afterlife. Do you doubt my powers?"

Marcus smiled, "Nope, of course I've never even seen your full potential. And if the Covenant can do it, I can do it."

"How confident you are." Nyx got up to leave. "Are you comming? Sali likes to sleep during the day."

"Yes, I am. Lead the way."

Nyx led the way through the winding tunnels and corridors, until they came to a metal door what had no locks or knobs. "Give me a minute." She took a deep breath and looked intently at the door.

Marcus waited as patently as he could.

"Tome na vous consouirze toconmates ta naeh la tovoin." The door poped open "Shall we? He'll be sleeping in the back room."

"Good, I suppose you'll want to make the introductions?"

"Of course not. I'd planned on just simply pushing you through the door and allow him to have at you. But if you'd like me to I will." Nyx flashed an evil smile.

"Never mind Nyx." He stepped into the room.

"If you're sure." Nyx stood back and setled in to watch the show

He called out, "Oh Sali? I hear you're looking for me...well I'm here."

Nyx laughed. "You really shouldn't do that..."

"I am the Messenger of the Covenant, and I have a message for you."

Sali sat up slightly groggy. "Your who? Why did you wake me?"

"I am Marcus, and I heard you wanted to see me. Although it would have been simple to use my cell phone."

"It is unwise for a Deamonof my kind to use electronics. So you are Marcus? A bit smaller that I'd hoped."

"I am Marcus, and this from suits me. Now what concern of yours is my business?"

"I wish to help you in any way possable but first I'll kick your ass for waking me up..." Sali lunged foreward only to be stopped Nyx.

"Now Sali, would that really be good for your cause?" She pushed him back and smiled.

"Now Nyx, he's right I did wake him up, if he wants to die that's fine by me really."

"Actually I'd rathere you didn't." Nyx gave them both black looks."

"It's been a lnog time Nyx." He came up behind her and grabbed her.

Her eyes flashed crimson. "Sali Do NOT touch me." She spun around and hit him so hard that he cracked teh opposit wall.

"Jesus, even I'm not stupid enough to try that." Marcus laughed.

"Nyx why so touchy?" Sali got up rubbing his head.

"Marcus, how do you know I wouldn't give you permission?" She faced Sali "Because the last time you touched me I ended up with five broken ribs, two dislocated fingers and multipul lacerations. Do you have any Idea how many people I had to drain to heal all of that? Not to mention you're the reason I can't stay in the underground." She flashe him another Balck look and turned back to marcus.

Marcus lauged, "And here I though you had some sort of thing for this guy. Oh well, bad luck there Sali. So you want to talk business now?"

"Don't get to confident. He's hot no doubt, but I'd kill him as soon as look at him if the moment called for it. Sali get me a chair." Nyx looked around

Marcus leaned against a wall as he always did. He yawned, "God this is dull."

"I could think of more fun things, but Business first." Sail sat the chair down for Nyx and looked toward Marcus.

"So, to business then." he stood waiting.

"Are you with us or against us?" He asked Sali.

Sali laughed. "With you of course. To go against teh Covenant is suicide."

Nyx smirked.

"Ah good, you are commanded by the Covenant to turn everyone within your sphere of influence to our cause, any humans that serve you are to be killed. You will take this," He tossed a cell phone to him. "Whether or not you like them, and you wait until I call you with more instructions. My orders for you will come with the authority of the Covenant remember that."

"Yeah, Yeah...Now get out." Sali went into the other room.

"Well, that was fun.. now what?" Nyx got up and stretched, revealing her belly piercing.

"Well he's pathetic." Marcus moved closer to her, "Like the piercing by the way"

She smiled. "I..never mind....Shall we?" She moved toward the door.

Marcus gently grabbed her arm, "What were you going to say?"

"You're touching me. Nothing let's go. They'll think we got lost...or something" She flashed a sly grin and continue to move

"Lost right..And I just wanted to see if I'd lose any teeth for touching you."

"I like your teeth right where they are. Are you trying to get me to fight you?" Nyx looked back at him.

"Well our fights do seem to be very fun." He laughed softly.

"She laughed. "No, Marcus our fights lead to Fucking, and right now, this isn't a good plac, unless.....oh forget it...ome on..' She increased her pace and ended up back in Nickoli's office.

"Yeah, we'd probably slaughter half the underground...."

"No I'd just tie you up in a dungen and leave you when I was finished." She shrugged and went to a large painting in the wall.

"Hell you almost broke my back last time, and my back is hard to break"

"I know I did. The point is you liked it. Do you want to see what Vampires and humans , and all the other races do in the underground?" She peeked through a hole in the canvas.

"Sure." He moved close behind her to look too.

"You're not looking. we're going in." Nyx gently pushed the picture open. On teh other side was the biggest Party. People couldn't walk through with out being squashed. Nyx moved forward slightly, and turned back to Marcus. "You sure you wanna see this?" She smiled Evily

Marcus gave her a look, "This looks like fun."

"I can get through with out being touched." She grabbed his hand and looked to the nearest person. In thier minds she resonated this message. Move or Die!

"Well that works. So you can touch me but I can't touch you is that it?"

"I didn't say you couldn't....Fun isn't it?" Nyx looked around they slowly walked the empty path infront of them. The people/things on teh sides stared at her. Whispers began things like "Nyx is back." or "Who's touching her?" spread through teh crowed. The made it to where Nickoli and Inarasat and the people went back to their normal things.

"Man all these people are making me hungry." He looked around for someone to eat.

Nyx let go of his hand. She shook her head. "Try the blonde over there. I'm gonna sit."

Marcus eyed her for a few seconds. "Good choice, I'm allowed to kill?"

Nyx let out a silvery laugh. "Look around Marcus. Tell me waht you see?" She leaned back and watched him

"Well for starters I see vampires doing what they do. Hmmm...guess I'll go have a snack, care to join me for dinner?"

"I'm not hungry. Actuall I think I'll dance." She got up and moved out into the floor. This time the people did n't move they only reacted. A young man, a vampire began to dance with her, being carefun not to initiate contact.

Marcus never took his eyes off Nyx as he crossed to the blonde. He didn't waste time but, with a disarming smile, slipped his arm around her and whispered in her ear. She slumped down and he held her up, touching her mind he began to drain her life energy. Before she was gone he was halted by curiosity. Pushing aside her head he bite her neck hard, she bleed and be drank. He was kind enough to turn the body to dust so it wouldn't disrupt the dancing, then he headed back to Nyx.

Nyx whispered into the young ma's ear. "Don't be afraid to touch me." His hand instantly began to explore her body. Their dancing became so close that you couldn't ahve slipped anything through them. It became intense. She scanned the crowed.

Marcus made his way to where he could watch Nyx dance.

She caught sight of Marcus, watching her. He was always watching. The dancing became more feverish untill the young ampire couldn't handle it any longer. He shudderd and Nyx let out one of her more silvery of laughs. "Ok, I'm finnished. Go clean your self...no control." She rolled her eyes as the vampire walked away discouraged. She came and sat back down.

"You're right Nyx, I do watch." He smiled, ?This dancing opens you up a little more."

She smiled. "How so? Do tel me how...."

"I'm not sure why, but I think I like it."

"Good. I thought you would. Any thing else to add? or do...." She smiled evily again

He leaned close to her and whispered, "Are you enjoying this Nyx?"

She laughed. "You've no idea." She leaned closer and kissed him. Pulling away quickly, she got up an went back out onto the floor.

What is it with her? I need a drink. He grabbed the vampire she'd been dancing with and ripped out this throat and drank his energy.

As quickly as she'd left she was beside him. She brushed her hand over his arm. "Not Jelous are you? It would manke it all the more fun."

"Jealous? Who me?" He mimicked her well used evil grin.

She pushed him into a dark corner. "Yes you. You didn't need that energy. What are you wanting from me Marcus?" Her gaze was intense, she closed the space between them to meae millimeters.

Marcus's eyes flashed with a pale light for a second and shadow passed across his face reveling a different face for just a fraction of a second. He grinned with teeth that were slightly sharper than usual. "Figure it our Nyx."

She got closer still. "I've had it figured out Marcus, it was just building you to this point that took so long. There were no victems for me to kill this time, I have to use my own skills for this." She showed ehr fangs and got even closer.

Marcus growled, "Well? What are you waiting for?" He ground his teeth to keep from bitting her

"Your move. I've worked hard for this, so I'll do iat anyway." She smiled and leaned into his neck. "You should've biten me Marcus." She sank her fangs into him and pressed him farther into the wall. She drank a small ammount and healed it over. "Definitly your move now..."

"Fine." His teeth finished sharpening into razors, "Ask and ye shall receive" He sliced into her neck and tasted her blood.

Nyx gasped and leaned into him. No one in years had drank from her. It felt very arrousing. She pressed into him, feeling things that she hadn't fels in centuries. Small gasps made their way into teh air as he continued.

"I don't live in any one place. As to why... I've just never really thought about settling down like most people, it's boring. Living in the streets, albeit having no real income, is always exciting..."

"I'll take income and excitement when I can."

She shrugged, "You have your desires for life and I've my own. Anyway, it's best to stop talking about money and income now. These alleys are frequented by some of the... lower gangs."

"Oh really? Doesn't sound like my thing."

She shrugged, "So where are you headed after this?"

"I'm....fuck." He said looking over her shoulder. Five guys stood there, one of them clutching a lead pipe stepped forward. "Did you mention money? How nice. Now you can give it to us and we'll beat you into the ground. Or.." Two of the others drew pistols, "Or we can shoot you."

"I'll take option three." Enne said coolly.

"There ain't no option three!" Another sneered, noticing as she drew her scythe, "Oh fuck..."

There was a flash of light and a loud thump. And the leader fell to the ground, the man behind him feel with his arm missing.

Over his screams Lyden said, "Now you can leave, or I'll shoot you too." He held his blue handgun in his hands.

"You gonna go quietly now?" She said coolly, twirling the scythe nonchallantly as the one who'd noticed her weapon initially grew paler.

The screaming thug suddenly went silent. He was dead.

"Seriously guys, these rounds cost money, don't make me waste it."

"Fuck!" Yelled one of them. They both turned and ran away screaming.

"You had to say something didn't you?" Lyden asked Enne.

"What?" She blinked, watching them scramble away with amusement.

"You warned me about them showing up, so they did. It's a rule of irony."

"Oh... well... at least they're gone now, you scared them pretty well." She replied.

"Hehe," His kissed his gun and returned it to its holster. "She may be impractical but, she gets the job done."

"Didn't even have to use my scythe..." She slipped it back into it's sheath swiftly.

"Sorry, you can get the next ones. Oh speaking of, you know any semi safe place to crash for the day? I had to move from my last base of operations."

"There's a warehouse that I cleaned out today. I figure it ought to be a bit safer than it was last night..." She replied.

"Thanks, which way? Oh, and why wasn't it safe last night?"

"I was attacked by some idiot with a gun," She replied smoothly.

"Good lord there seem to be alot of them around doesn't there. So ummm...I take it you won.." He trailed off.

"Well, I'm still here, aren't I? And in one piece to boot..." She grinned.

"Well cool. Lead the way."

She nodded and began to walk, stopping once they'd reached the place, "Watch your step, the place has a few... holes." She said.

"Any chance it has electricity?"

"Who knows... it's possible." She shrugged.

Lyden walked over and flicked a few switches on the wall. Nothing happened. "Hmm, guess not."

She shrugged, "I suppose it was worth a shot. Go ahead, make yourself at home, I'll go kick out the rats in this place..."

"Gah leave them alone, they're cute little buggers..oh..you don't mean rat rats do you?"

"No, I meant the human rats." She said simply.

"I doubt you need one but you want a hand?"

"Nah, it's fine, I got it." She said, "It'll only take a minute.

He pulled out a small hand held computer. "Hm alright..." He muttered vaguely, typing very fast with his thumbs.

She went from floor to floor, and everytime she was spotted there was a horrified scream before the person, or group of people would scurry away, "Death is here!" Some shouted, warning the others.

Lyden focused on his computer, Hmm, guess I know what she meant by her nickname now. He kept typing when he saw, City Power Grid Accessed. flash across his screen. "OK," He muttered to himself, now we'll see..." He pressed a button and lights came on in the room, some of the bulbs burst with the new energy.

After a while she made her way back to him, "They're gone now." She said

"Ah good, well I've got a few things I have stashed, luckily they're nearby. I'll go grab them" He got up, pocketing his computer.

"Alrighty then." She replied, sitting down and leaning against the wall.

Lyden stepped out of the warehouse and headed back to where he stashed his supplies.

Without even realizing it, Enne drifted into sleep.

Right where I left them. He grabbed his small stash of computers and parts, two duffel bags, and headed back.

She released a soft sigh, her head resting against her knees as she slept.

Lyden saw Enne sleeping and stayed to the other end of the warehouse. He hooked up his laptop and hacked into China's missile system to relax him for sleep.

James peered in from the window. Idiot came back here? He laughed inwardly and stepped away from the window, dialing Marcus, albeit warily.

As a small amount of Nyx's blood ran down his throat he growled sensing his phone. He reached in his pocket and squeezed it, breaking it into pieces.

"Tch." After recieving no answer, James hung up, "I really despise that guy..."

"Look at them Nickoli. Nyx is more entranced than he is." She leaned her head on his shoulder. "Do you have a Donor for me yet?"

"In fact I think I have the perfect one. He's human, just how you like them. His name is James. All you have to do is go retrive him."

She looked at him with eyes full of confusion. "It's Marcus' partner. Did you see what he crushed in his pocket? James was calling and he needs back up. Why don't you go help him?" Nickoli gave her the destination and she was gone.

After a few minutes James moved back over to the window soundlessly. He smirked, "Well... may as well have a little fun, with or without that guy's aid."

Shade was sound asleep, plagued by dreams... fragments of a past he wasn't sure was his own. He saw war, violence, bloodshed, vengance. When from the distance came a blackness. Just before it consumed him, an awareness formed in the corners of his mind. He was brought back to reality by the very abrupt breaking of one of the legs on his chair. He hit the floor with a dull thud. Shaking his head, he looked around the room, trying to remember where he was.

"What the hell? Where'd the floor go? Oh, ok, I see it now." He said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Hmm, I wonder where I... Oh yeah, that warehouse. Damn chair. Cost me ten bu... oh, no, that's right, it was free. I wonder if any of those hippies came back... Here hippy, hippy, hippy. I got a doobie for ya. Freshy doobie for da hippy..." He rolled up a newspaper, hoping for a little humor to start his day. But he got no response, "Hmm... they must've all gone home. Oh well."

He walked outside, expecting it to be noon. But the sun didn't look high enough. Infact, it had barely come over the horizon since he nodded off. "Well... lets just see if we can find out what time it is.." He said, pulling up his hood and starting down the street. In a few minutes, he found himself in front of a small convinience store. "Oh, look, a convenience store. I think it would be convenient if they knew what time it was. I think I may walk in and see." He grinned, still a little too groggy to let out a good laugh for his joke. He walked inside and rang the bell to call the clerk.

"Can I help you sir?" The clerk said, as he appeared from a small office in the back of the store.

"Er... yeah. See, the thing is..." Shade was about to go into one of his comical explanations, when something inside him stopped him cold. "I... eh... " He knew something was wrong, he just couldn't tell waht it was. The dark mass, haunting him now, even in his waking hours? Then, as quick as it had come, it was gone.

"Sir, are you ok?" The clerk asked.

"Yes, I'm fine, thank you." He answered, "Actually, I've lost my watch, and was wondering what time it was."

"Well, lets see," The clerk looked at his watch, "It's about 5-ish."

"Thanks, man." Shade replied as he walked out the door.

He'd just walked out the door, when the feeling he got inside the store came back... It wasn't the blackness from the dream, it was his senses going into overdrive. He turned around, and three men came from the alley beside the store, and surrounded Shade in the street. "Well, look at that. It's not every day that roaches come out from under the fridge and actually ask you to squish them." He laughed. He was actually a little greatful for the momentary distraction, even though he knew it wouldn't last long. He'd already decided to dispatch them without the use of a weapon, just for kicks. The first two went down without ever really knowing what happened, heads twisted a clean 180 degrees. To be a good sport, Shade thought he'd let the other live, moving in to put him down with a swift punch. But when his fist connected with the mans stomach, a surge of energy ran through Shade, and a small blast of dark energy plowed into it's victim and carried him into a dumpster on the other side of the street. "What the fuck?" Shade stood, transfixed to his spot, staring at his hand. "Well, hell, I didn't know I could do that." He drew back his fist and punched at the air in front of him, re-creating the feeling that the surge came with, and another, identical blast sailed forward from his fist and slammed into the dumpster, "Oh, hell yeah. That's gonna come in handy." So, he then turned and went about his business. He didn't know where he was going, but there was no use being late.

Then he had a thought. "Those two guys... or atleast the tall one... kept popping in and out of one of these buildings. Now which one was it? That one over there I belive." He walked over to the building and knocked on the door. No answer. It seemed to be unlocked, so he jiggled the handle and it opened. Caught by a sudden wave of curiosity, he stepped inside. "Hello? Anybody home? It's UPS! ... Ok, not really UPS, but hey..." He took a few steps further in. One of the rooms nearby looked like it was open, so he walked over. It was dark... But he could see something. He walked all the way into the room.
"What the hell?..."

Nyx felt Marcus's phone vibrate as it rang. That had to be James, just in time to ruin the fun. But that wasn't so, Marcus retch into his pocket and crushed the phone. She could tell that her blood had gotten into him. What he seemed not to notice was that her sister had just left. No doubt Nickoli had sent her after James. She slowly pulled away. Allowing the blood from her wound to trickle down her neck. She could tell that he was disappointed. "You really should have answered that, you know it was James." She was still just as close to him as she had been. These odd displays of intensity from him were rare, but very enjoyable. "What do you want to do? Are we going to go see what he needs? If we are we should try and get there before my sister. If not.." She gave a sly look "maybe we should go some place else." Nyx still didn't move as she tilted her head to the side and healed the bite in her neck that Marcus had made. Even through the interruption, the intensity was still at its peek.

"I say we let Inara kill her. It's alot more human than what I'll do to him if I get a hold of him, plus she did say she needed a new donor."

"Well, I'll be damned," Shade said, as he strode across the room. It was a huge stone. A huge, blood-red stone. And he could feel power in it. "Oh my god! It's a giant cherry popsicle!" He couldn't help himself. It was in his nature to try and be funny. He licked it. "Thith doeth'n tathe like a popthicle," He said with his tongue still stuck to the surface. But, he learned his lesson the hard way. Before he could react, the stone blasted him back against the opposite wall. Before he fell unconcious from the hit, he managed to mutter, "That thing... should have a warning label... Caution: Not a popsicle, do not lick..." Then his mind blanked out, and he was no more than a heap on the floor.

Then the dreams came. He was saw war again. The blood, the screams. For some reason, it was comforting. He looked into his hand, and there in it was a blade. Not his trusty ShadowKatana. A larger, more jagged blade, with markings along it's broad sides, and odd stones set into the hilt. Enemies came at him from all sides. He slashed them down effortlessly, and noticed that the blade had a faint blue-ish glow to it. The more he killed, the stronger he got. Then, when he thought that his battle was won, it came. The blackness from the horizon. This time, it swallowed him whole...

Inara phased to the Warehouse and looked around. "What a nice place." She smiled. "Now to look for my new donor...." She jumped onto the roof believing the man named James to be hovering around there. She walked to the edge of the roof and laughed. "Well are you James? You look like the one Nickoli showed me."

"And just who are you?" He asked, looking up at her coolly, "In case you haven't noticed, I'm rather busy at the moment."

"Busy? It looks more like spying. Anyway would you like to be my donor?" She laid down on the roof looking at him ther on the window sil. Oh, my name is Inara. I'm Nyx's sister. You remeber her correct? Will you be my donor." She smiled at him.

"Depends on your definition of a donor. And for your information, I'm not spying." He pulled out his gun, "I'm about to take care of some unfinished business.

"Well, I hope that business is me." She leaned over the edge and swung her leg down in front of the window he was looking into. "Well you know Nyx right? Well, I'm hungry and I want you. Will you let me feed from you? I'll keep you." She got down on the sil with him. "What do you say? I'll be your partner?" She was so close to him they were almost kissing.

"No thanks." James responded, "I spill blood, I don't give it. Now be quiet or we'll be heard."

"Why are you playing hard to get? Is it that thing in there?" Fine I'll take care of him for you!" She whispered harshly.

Across Lyden's screen the words Do you wish to deploy, target: Great Britan? (Y/N) Flashed in Chinese. He stretched and pressed N. He yawned, time for bed.

"Why are you distracting my prey?" Inara busted through the window.

Enne snapped into consciousness immediately, standing and drawing her tri-bladed scythe simultaniously, "Who are you?" She demanded evenly, shifting so that she was in front of a sleeping Lyden.

"I'm Inara and for some reason you are making my new donor focus on you. Why are you so interesting to him? Hmm?" Inara flashed her fangs. "I'm hungry."

"Donor? How would I know why he finds me so interesting, I don't even-" She caught sight of James as he slipped through the window behind Inara, "Oh... you mean that guy..." She groaned, "And here I thought I got rid of him, tried to shoot me last night, he did. Failed miserably too." James scowled at her.

She turned to James. "You fought with her! Are you crazy my poor little donor. Maybe when I start feeding on you I'll teach you a few things. I'll have to take you too the Underground. This dear, is Death. She's known all over the theUnderground and is known on the streets. You want her for the covenant don't you?"

James turned his gaze steadily towards her, "She was in the warehouse. The orders were to kill all that were here, though I must admit the pickings were slim. And yes, I fought her, but she ran away before I could kill her."

Enne scoffed at that, "I would have killed you easily had I wanted to." She responded.

"Besides that, she's refused to join the covenant." James
finished.

"Dear that's not smart. No matter how strong you are there're more powerful people on the side of the Covenant. Hun you don't stand a chace of escape. Come to the covenant. If your on this side you'll be left alone. I promise." She smile at Enne. "And you James if she dosen't convert, you're comming with me anyways. She'll make up her mind."

"If she refuses to come, why don't we just kill her?" James responded.

"I'm sorry, but I don't much care for the covenant. That guy... what was his name... Marcus already asked me and I've refused." Enne replied simply, twirling her scythe once before slamming it's spearhead into the ground, "If you have nothing else to say, please leave."

"Alright then. James come with me." Inara pointed her finger at him and he lifted off the ground. "Oh my. You are human. Anyway, Enne or Death as they call you you may want to change you mind. You'll see. Sali is out and about again. You might want to come to the Underground at least once more before you make your final descion. Goodnight darling." She wwaved as she lumped at the window James floating behind her.

"Hey now!" James said in mild surprise, his cool facade falling for a moment as he was unexpectedly lifted from the ground and taken out of the warehouse.

Enne shrugged and sat back down, leaning her scythe across her lap and closing her eyes attentively, she'd be ready should someone try and attack her...

Inara landed on the ground and pinned James against the wall of the warehouse. "So you...." She leaned into him. "Do you want to be my donor? I promise I make a great playmate."

"What would I get out of being a donor?" James questioned, dismayed at the fact that he didn't get to kill anything...

"You'll get a playmate." She whispered in his ear. "You'll get....some fun. "She grazed her teeth against the skin on his neck. "Also you get this." She grabbed his aching member through his pants. "You know this is the only thing giving you away? Now I know your interested."

"Hey now, hold up!" He said, "Will I still get to kill people?"

"Of course." She kissed his lips pulling him more into her enchantment. "Now will you be my donor?"

"I suppose that for now it would serve as a bit of 'fun'." James responded slowly.

"Fun? You have no idea." She bit down on his neck and delighted in the sound of his voice as he moaned. She She reached under his shirt and carved her mark on his lower back whith her claw. She slowly pulled away and licked his wound. "Your mine now. No other can have you. I'll never hurt you as long as you follow my rules. Okay?"

"Your rules?" He said slowly, "Listen here, missy, I follow my own rules. Nobody tries to control me. I've agreed to your terms partially, but now you must agree to mine."

"What are yours?" She threw her leg up the wall. Her foot landing near his head.

"Leave me to my own devices when I so desire, and don't try to collar me in." He responded.

"Sorry ,but did you feel me claw you? You're already collored..." She slipped his hand under her mini skirt which was already riding up. "Try again."

"I'm very serious. I don't care that you've marked me or whatever, you try and control my actions and I'll leave." He didn't do anything with the hand that she'd pulled under her mini-skirt, but he didn't move it either.

" I won't do that. You don't need it. Maybe I'll make you my mate?" She eyed him intently. "You deserve immortality. i could see you with vampire powers.... But only if you give me permission." She finally hooked her lag around his wait and pressed up closer together. "We're being watched." She whispered. "You ready to fight?"

"Immortality, eh?" He grinned, "That would be interesting... Spilling blood for all of eternity... and I'm always ready to fight."

Lyden breathed out at last and loosened his grip on his gun just a little. "Enne, you want to tell me why in the few hours I've known you I keep thinking I'm in deep?"

"What do you mean?" She cracked an eye open innocently and looked over at him.

"I've fired this thing six times since I made it, and I've only had too draw it eight. One night with you..." He stood up, "They'll be back I bet."

"Probably." Enne responded, "But we'll be ready to deal with the situation when it arrives."

"Yeah...that'll be fun..I say we hit them now..which one is stronger?"

"Probably the woman. I fought James last night and he wasn't much of a challenge."

"Then you go after them, distract her and I'll shoot her with my gun, it's light speed she'll never doge it..."

"Sounds good to me..." She replied, pulling herself silently to her feet.

He readied his gun,"On you're mark."

"I'm ready to go. Give me a moment to distract them so that they won't pay heed to you when you first come out." Enne said.

"Pay heed to me?" Oh man...we're not in Kansis any more Toto....Ok, go when you're ready."

Enne nooded to him and leapt out the window, scythe raised and ready to strike as she landed before the pair.

"Okay. Ready, steady, GO!" She backed away from him and pulled out tarrot cards from where no one knows."So you out to get us are you?"

"Don't tell me that you're afraid of 'Death'." Enne replied simply, standing up straight as James drew his gun once more and aimed it at her.

Lyden crouched down beside the door ready to strike. Good thing I'm a good shot...

"I'll fight you, brat. I don't care if you are 'Death'." James responded, "Step back, let me have my fun." He said to Inara, and she stepped back to let him have his fun.

James raised the gun level with Enne's form and let off a burst of rounds, which she proceeded to block with the twirling of her tri-bladed scythe.

The stone glowed bright red, the Voice spoke out. "Awaken intruder." It commanded of the unconscious Shade.

Shades eyes opened slowly, "Huh? Who's there? Where am I?"

"What business have you with the Council? Explain yourself and this disgrace." The Voice boomed but still no one was visible.

"The what? What disgrace? Who are you? Better yet... Where are you?" He blinked into the darkness, still seeing nothing.

Bright red lightning lashed out from the stone and slammed Shade against the wall again. "WHO ARE YOU? WE COMMAND YOU ANSWER."

"Alright, alright. Cool your jets. The truth is: I don't know my name." He answered, "Fact of the matter is... I don't really know anything about myself. You have my answer, would be so kind as to give me yours?"

The stone pulsed red and lightning flashed across it's surface, "Michael Nyctos stands before us professing his innocence due to his self imposed blindness."

"Self imposed blindness? Who's Micheal Nyctos? Is that my name?" They had his attention now, "What do you know about me?" Shade got to his feet, still slightly stunned from the blast, "Tell me... Who am I? Who are you?"

"We are the Council of the Covenant, the masters of this world. You are Micheal Nyctos, and you belong to us now. Serve us well, and you will be rewarded with all we know." The stone dimmed and brightened and the three Council members stood before him.

"The Council of the Covenant... Micheal... Promise me the answers I want, and a servant you shall have." Shade Stood before them and waited for their reply.

The stone flashed, instantly an image was painfully implanted in Shade's brain. "Go, find our servants, they will take you to the one called Marcus, he is our Messenger. Defy him and you shall die ignorance"

Dropping to his knees, Shade saw a warehouse, and was made aware of it's location. Turning his fall into a bow, he acknowledged his new masters and responded, "I will find them, and seek your Marcus... My Masters."

"Excellent..." The stone faded into blackness with the word. Then suddenly blasted Shade with lightning again, this time much stronger, he was blasted out of the chamber and the mark of the Covenant was burned into his flesh...

In pain, once again, Shade grabbed the back of his neck, feeling the searing-hot scar that was the mark. Getting to his feet, and seeing that the Council had vanished he turned for the door and left, "Finally... A step in the right direction. Now, to find these other servants and the one called Marcus..."

James clenched his teeth, cursing as she blocked his bullets so easily for the second time, "Don't you know that they're supposed to hit!" He growled, resorting to his fire ability for the second time while fighting her.

She dodged several pillars of flames, "Well, I'm sorry if not everything can go the way that you want it to." She responded dryly.

James followed her movements with multiple attacks, bullets followed by flames, flames followed by bullets, and sometimes he moved to attack her personally.

Lyden jumped out from behind the door and sighted on the girl that was his target. A sudden spray of bullets near his head made him stumble and his shot went wild, grazing James' foot and vaporising cement.

Lyden yelped and cursing his stupidity scrambled back to his place behind the door.

James cringed slightly before turning his sights towards the hidden Lyden, "You're going to pay for that."

"Hey, your opponent is right here!" Enne attacked him as he turned back to her quickly to block her blow.

Lyden readied his gun again. Goddamn this is not a good day for me.

The shadows beneath Enne began to shift as she swung her scythe at James.

Shade found the warehouse easily from the image the Council put into his head. In a matter of seconds he was on a rooftop overlooking a battle. Not one to interupt a duel, he jumped silently to the ground and started to take a flanking possition to gain an advantage incase he was discovered.

Lyden knew his current position was no longer strategically sound. He jumped up and hurried to the other side of the warehouse, he would try to flank them and get off another shot. He dashed out the door and ran flat into a wall, "Oof." He said as he landed flat on his back

Well that wasn't there before...

"Erm... Sorry 'bout that. Here, lemme help you up." Shade reached out a hand to help Lyden to his feet.

Enne managed to lift her shadows into the air and send them in a massive wave at James, who was flung through several walls of the warehouse. She grinned as she spun her scythe and set the spear-head lightly against the concrete.

Lyden took the offered hand in a daze. "Umm..man...wha..oh.thanks." He got to his feet and looked at Shade, he groaned. What a damn day...

"I'm looking for a servant of the Council, are you him?" Shade asked as he lifted Lyden off the ground and set him back down on his feet.

"Council? What the heck is that?" He looked back at a loud crash coming from within the warehouse.

"Never mind, then." He left Lyden standing where he'd set him down, and made his way into the building.

Lyden watched him go more confused than ever.

After a moment Enne slipped into the warehouse, seeking out James and noting that she'd sent him through four walls with pride.

Nyx smiled. She leaned into Marcus and gave him a smal bite, only taking a miniscule ammount of his blood. It burned like a good liquor. "Then what shall we do?" She sounded innocent in her inquary.

Enne made her way slowly to James, lowering the spearhead of her scythe to his throat, "The first time I was more than willing to spare your life, but you've given me no choice now but to kill you." She said calmly.

Marcus spun her around and pushed her against a nearby wall and kissed her. "We can go now and save James, then I'm going to kill him. Or..." He traced a finger down her throat.

Nyx arched to his touch. "Or what?"

"Or we can finish what we started all those years ago..."

"Oh let's do finish it." She gazed at him, the feeling of excitement radiated off of her.

Marcus gave a growling laugh and slipped her zipper on the back of her corset.

Nyx gasped and tried to catch the garmet as it fell to the floor revealing a skimpy undershirt. "Shall we find a better place to do this"

Marcus laughed, "You didn't care about that last time. Alright fine, you know this place, lead the way." He smiled slyly.

Nyx laughed her silvery laugh. "Last time we slaughtered every living personin the tavern. This way." She grabbed his belt loop and pulled him toward a door, remembering to pickup her corset. The room was decorated in black and red velvet. with an inumerable ammount of toys on the walls and in cases.

Marcus laughed loudly upon entering the room. "I'm starting to like this place..."

The bed was tripple the normal size and drapped in red silk and black velvet/lace. "Shall we?

He used his considerable strenght to throw her gently onto the bed, she landed comfortably. He seemed to glide over, "Lets."

Nyx, smiled as she landed on the bed. "Well, I can't do eerything.....What are you waiting for?"

Marcus smiled, "I was just wondering if you were going to get out of your lovely clothes or if you were going to sacrifice them." He ripped of her undershirt suddenly. "See?" He asked, holding up the tattered remains.

She looked down at herself and smirked. She gazed up at him. "You should be more diligent." he was now standing in his undergarments.

"You sure about that?" He asked, he held up her red lace panties and smirked.
"So you have aquired some skills over the years. Nice. now what are you going to do? Wht good are my under garments if I've still got my skirt on? If you're going to be a tease I'll leave like I did last time."

"Fine." He traced his finger down from her throat to the elastic of her skirt and pulled it down.

Nyx's eyes falshed intently."If I bite, try not to scream...ok?"

"Not the noise I make. Lets see about you shall we?" He lowered his head and bit her thigh till she bleed.

Nyx moaned. "You'll have to do better than that."

Marcus growled, his energy shaking the walls for a fraction of a second. He bit harder before letting go. He grabed her bleeding leg and pulled her down to kiss her mouth.

"Oh, hello" She viciously attacked him, after all she didn't have to breath.

After a few moments Marcus tore his head away, he lifted his head and gave a snarling roar. His true demon face ripled under his skin for a moment. He kissed her with renued furry.

She gasped air and flipped him over. "I'm gonna have some fun." she grinned as she slid him inside her.

Marcus laughed too, "Well it's about time don't you think?"

She began to move her hips in a slow pattern, biteing and kissing in random places. She sat up and looked down at his face as she moved. "Well, is it what you remembered?"

"Not quite..." Marcus lept up, never leaving her, he pushed her hard against the wall and took over control at a faster pace. "It was more like this I do belive."

"Ow, yeah. "he had hit her head off of the wall. She jerked his head to teh side and sank her fangs deep into his flesh. She drank from him mor than ever before. It burned her throat but it felt good. She pushed off of the wall and they fell into the door, the knob jaming into his back. "Still familiar?"

He laughed, "Getting there, no fresh kills but it'll do." He flipped her over on her back.
